Potential Child Predator Warning
Sean Hollingsworth — 15 March 2010 - 2:28pm
The following information was passed on to the board earlier today. Please remember, if you see anything suspicious in the neighborhood, call 911.
Within the last week, a number of parents in the Peachtree Corners area have reported that their children have been approached by two men under suspicious circumstances. These two men have also been observed driving through neighborhoods, apparently watching young child at play. These events have occurred in the Steeplechase, White Hawk and Chadwick neighborhoods.
The two men are described as being one white and one black, the black man with dreadlocks. Both scruffy and dirty in appearance. The black make has been reported as the driver of the vehicles and the white male has been seen lying down in the backseat. When the white male raised his head up from the backseat, the driver is reported to have motioned for him to lie back down.
Two different vehicles have been reported:
- Older model Isuzu Rodeo or Nissan Pathfinder
- Dark Teal paint
- Tags reported as BJD-357 (this may be incorrect)
- 1995 or 1996 Mazda 626
- Purple or Brown paint
- Unknown tags
This may be related to another incident several months ago where a child was approached in his driveway by an unknown male. If you see either of these vehicles or anything else suspicious or out of the the ordinary, do not hesitate to call 911. If possible, get a description of the vehicle or occupants and a tag number. Do not approach the vehicle or its occupants.

Vehicle Break-ins in Spalding Mill
Sean Hollingsworth — 13 August 2009 - 8:41am
Last night, several vehicles in Spalding Mill were broken into. Based on information from Gwinnett County police, it appears the thieves were specifically targeting vehicles in which laptops were visible. In at least one of the break-ins, only the laptop was stolen; a GPS and other electronics were not taken. If you saw or heard anything that may be related to these break-ins, please contact Gwinnett County Crime Tip Line at 770-513-5390. According to information from the Gwinnett County West Precinct C.O.P.S. Watch website, recently arrested auto thieves have stated that they are targeting upscale and gated communities.
Please remember that vehicles should be parked inside your garages. If you must leave a vehicle outside of the garage, remove all valuables from the vehicle. If anyone sees anything suspicious in the neighborhood, please call 911.
4th of July Fireworks in Lawrenceville Cancelled
Sean Hollingsworth — 29 June 2009 - 12:45pm
Due to budget cuts brought on by the ongoing economic downturn, Gwinnett County has cancelled the annual fireworks display in downtown Lawrenceville:
"In the face of declining revenues and the difficulty in raising sponsorship funds, Gwinnett County Government officials cancelled the annual Gwinnett Glows 4th of July celebration. Gwinnett Glows has been a fun community tradition for two decades, but the old adage "all good things must come to an end" is particularly apt in this case given the current state of the economy."
Gwinnett County public forums on solid waste program.
Sean Hollingsworth — 23 June 2009 - 9:37pm
As many of you may remember, last fall and winter, Gwinnett County attempted to initiate a new solid waste program. The program was halted, however, after a number of lawsuits and complaints from waste service providers who felt they were not treated fairly by the county. Gwinnett County is crafting a new solid waste program and is seeking further public input.
